Long Eaton roadworks

Thank you for your the interest in the roadworks which are currently in place in Long Eaton. They are taking place as part of our contracted works for the development of the East Midlands Gateway project by SEGRO and Roxhill Developments. The statement we issued to the media is as follows:

“The roadworks currently underway in Long Eaton are to provide electrical power for the new East Midlands Gateway Project, by Junction 24 of the M1. We appreciate the work which is to connect the new development with the nearest Western Power Distribution point in Toton is continuing to cause disruption and we thank the residents of Long Eaton for their patience.

“We can confirm work is on schedule to be complete within the next six to eight weeks and as we near completion, we will continue to work with the Council to find ways of reducing the level of disruption being experienced. This includes working at night and at weekends when less traffic is on the roads, and manually controlling traffic flow where possible to ease congestion. We will continue to keep local residents up to date with our progress.”
